Delve Deeper into your yoga practice
An exploration into your self and your yoga practice with wibbs and meg.
I am super excited to announce a new course with my very good friend Meg Parkinson, from over at the Snug on the farm. This course is something that we have been discussing for quite a while now. We have felt that there appears to be a gapping hole in the world of yoga education.
Do you want to develop a deeper practice? Do you want to begin to build your own home practice? Do you want to learn some more about philosophy of yoga? Do you want to dive into meditation?? If these are thoughts that you have been having in your weekly yoga class but you really don’t want to be going off to do a teacher training course, then we are bridging this gap.
If you want to delve deeper you have to go and do a 200hr yoga teacher training course. I know so many people who have gone off to various teacher trainings to learn more even though they never wanted to teach. This course will run for 150 hrs and it will all be spent helping you dive into your self and your practice rather than in to the specifics of how to teach a pose to someone else, how to go about planning classes or the business of yoga teaching.
Meg and I are bringing a course that touches on many subjects that a YTTC would do (along with some that our trainings didn’t) that we feel allows you to begin to practice yoga deeper and to also live yoga more fully both on and off the mat.
Meg and i have over 20 years of yoga practice between us with over 8 years of teaching experience. Our trainings have taken us to different parts of the world and to practice with some amazing teaches, same insta famous (for those who care about that kinda thing) and some hidden gems living a truly yogic life. I have over 500hrs of formal yoga training not including further education in the physiology of both anatomy and the human breath. Meg brings her extensive knowledge of movement through work with horses and riders and deep personal struggle with chronic illness to bring her understanding of the sutra and philosophy to life.
This course will be held over the course of a year, every second month. It will involve 6 weekends (Friday evening Saturday and Sunday) along with a catch up evening on the in-between months for chai and chat. These chats will be a chance to ask us questions that may have come up since the previous weekend. Each weekend will involve asana/pranayama/mediation practices both morning and evening of the Saturday and Sundays to begin and end the days along with the study of the weekends subjects.
The course will run:
21/22/23rd august - Living Yoga, a look at the philosophy of the sutras or patanjali, the gita and the upanishads.
16/17/18th October - The Breath, a look at the physiology and the practice of pranayama
11/12/13th December - Delving into Asana, a look at the intentions/anatomy/variations of the practice.
19/20/21st February - How to modify and use props, a look at both scaling back and stepping up your practice using props and modifications.
16/17/18th April - Meditation and Building a practice. A look at different types of mediation and working to find what works for you.
18/19/20th June - Building a home practice, This will be a chance to put it all together to plan and build a daily practice.
This training is a culmination of all the tens of thousands of hours of teaching, training, studying, practicing that Meg and I have completed over the last 14 years. The Total number of hours in this training will be 150 with an investment to join of £1500. This payment can be made on a one off payment or in three instalments. This course will be held at the snug on the farm in Hoo with places limited to 12. If you would like to join one or some of the weekends but are unable to attend the whole course, if spaces are still left, you can book weekend places individually at a cost of £250.
